48V Precendent "intermittently" will go when pressing pedal
2010 Club Car Precedent 48V
Batteries are definitely due for replacement (5 years old)... Still charging and typically no issue for use around the neighbourhood.. However, sometimes i turn the key on, select fwd or reverse, depress the pedal and nothing happens... Sometimes if i hold the pedal down, it will then all of sudden start to move. Sometimes i turn the key on and off and it will go, and finally sometimes i just switch between reverse and fwd and it'll go... Very intermittent though.... Happens 1 in 10 times we're using the cart. Figure something is wearing out, or its the batteries... However, once it goes, we are able to cruise no problems for the rest of the night. Any advice? Or experience with similar issue?? |

Do You ever leave the cart unplugged from the charger for a few days?
If the cart is left unplugged the OBC will go to sleep after a few days and it will take a little while the first time you try to use the cart until the system is back online. |

Never leave it unplugged....
Plugged in after each ride! The weather has turned a bit colder here (50 deg days, 35deg nights) Not sure if that can have an effect?? Anyway, intermittent issues the worst!! So I'm not sure where to start.... |

Does your cart have an MCOR under the go & break pedals? My 2009 cart was doing the same thing and I had the MCOR replaced.

Read your thread however... My speed is good once i am going.. and everything seems fine most of the time...Just that odd time i jump on, turn the key, press the throttle and nothing happens!! Fortunately i've been always able to get the cart moving, but there is no science to what i did to make it go...Maybe just dumb luck!! How do i know if i need just the mcor4 and/or the conversion kit?? |

Re: 48V Precendent "intermittently" will go when pressing pedal
You can usually tell if the MCOR is needing replacing by leaving the key off and pumping the pedal fast about 10-15 times. This will help to clean a dirty wiper causing the problem. If it clears up temporarily, MCOR probably in need of replacement. Be sure to get your replacement from David at Revolution Golf cars. That way you'll get a real MCOR from Club Car instead of a Chinese knockoff. The 2010 model may need an upgrade to MCOR 4 for best long time results. He has those too.

Re: 48V Precendent "intermittently" will go when pressing pedal
Next time it does that check if the reverse buzzer works when the FNR is on Reverse, that will eliminate the OBC as source of the problem.
If the buzzer works the fact that the cart works when the pedal is held down leads to a Solenoid not closing or Controller falling. Does the pre-charger resistor show signs of overheating? A failing MCOR micro-switch would also have a similar symptom but the cart would not have run if the switch closed while the pedal was pressed down. |

Again...Cause i wasn't cognizant of "the cause" i've never approached this with steps of diagnosis... So i will try the reverse buzzer 1st next time... I'm hoping not the controller...pretty sure that's not cheap!! |

Re: 48V Precendent "intermittently" will go when pressing pedal
Was there a solution to this problem?? I am having very similar issues where the cart will have trouble when I pump the pedal a little coming out of the garage but once it goes a few yards it works fine for a while. Then will have issues again once it sits for awhile. Gotten worse recently.
Thanks! |
