Default G2 turns over w/out key or pedal switch

Rebuilding a G2 that someone else tore down (I picked up with parts in boxes). Was running before he tore down. I’m having an electrical issue..wiring harness hooked up (per the manual, I think!) but when I connect to the new battery, the cart turns over without the key in or on AND without touching the pedal.

All connections are good. Just can’t figure out why it’s turning over without the pedal compressed while key is out/off.

Would the ignitor be the cause? I ask as the ignitor connection as been bypassed with straight terminal connections to it.

Default Re: G2 turns over w/out key or pedal switch

The cart runs this way, the pos wire goes to the key its a white/red stripe wire usually. Then to the pedal switch, then back to the ignitor/coil/start solenoid. So check that wire at the solenoid it should not be hot. Also check the solenoid to make sure it is grounded, all cart wiring is ground wire too so any ground wire problem will be a problem. If you have no ground it can become hot, though you should need power to make the solenoid come on. Always check any wiring like battery clamps, terminals, etc. Mine the connectors on the solenoid were all replaced long ago they fail. Mine has no ignitor it has a clone engine, it starts just like a stock cart no problems, just the ignition components are removed and one wire goes to a relay to kill the clone when you let off the pedal. Solenoid wires are unchanged. Solenoids can fail eventually, but mine refused to start unless I stomped on the floor next to it. They are not cheap they must be constant duty. They stay on all the time the cart runs.
