Default MJFX Lift Kit- Replacement Shocks

Hi All,

I have a 2014 Yamaha G29 YDRE with a 6" MadJax MJFX Double A-Arm lift kit. My front shocks have started to leak and need to be replaced. I first went to look and see if the shocks themselves had part numbers on them, that I could cross referenced. They do and the Part Number is 72205A (5001). After a bunch of googling, I can't find anything that matches.

I finally bit the bullet and called Nivel, whom said they could not sell to me. They told me to call Golf Cart King and that they could order from Nivel and then have the shocks drop shipped to me. Only problem with this is Nivel wants $116/shock. RIDICULOUS. The Nivel part number is W16-5-10. The interesting thing about this part number is that when googled, a bunch of T-bucket style shocks come up that look similar in size to the lift kit shocks.

Does anyone have any experience with this or can lend some suggestions on getting the proper replacement shocks for less the $116 each + shipping!?!?

You could try atv shocks. Post a pic and the dimensions.

Good thought! Just a quick google and it seems like all ATV shocks are coilovers.

I'll take a pic tonight.

Dimensions are compressed length 10". Extended 14".

14" extended, is that eye to eye? Or overall? Installed measurement?

To get the correct size shocks, you would want to remove the shock from the cart, lay it on the floor, and measure from the center of the eye to the center of the eye, basically bolt hole to bolt hole.

Even when the shock is extended while installed, it likely will get longer when removed. That's why you can't just measure the shock while it's on the cart.

Also, if you can, post a pic of the shock laying on the ground, with your tape measure next to it. If you can do that, I'll find you a shock.

Man that's a small shock. Well, I scoured my resources and these are the two closest options.

By the photos it appears that:
*Your sleeve is 10mm, which is what size bolt you would use.
*Your compressed length is 7.5".
*Your extended length is 10.5".
*These measurements are "eye to eye" or "center of eye to center of eye".

#2 Monroe Shock

If they are only available through NIVEL, then they might be proprietary parts. That's how they getcha.

you can always go to o'reilly auto (use seame #) with that monroe part number and see if they can get it .

or call them and see what it fits and then to your local store and ask for it under that auto

Heres another place.

https://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/....cfm?id=223986

If you dont mind the work, you can get a stem mount and canniblize your old shock and weld the loop to the top.

Thanks Everyone! I ordered the Monroes off Amazon. They are supposed to be here by Friday, with Free Returns. If they don't work, I'll try out the ones from Speedway.

Either way, I will report back if I do or do not find what I need.
