Re: Finally starting my 1st build
Well, the template was made out of PVC but the end product was 1" square steel.
I skipped right over the intermediate "Black Walnut" stage |

Re: Finally starting my 1st build
Well, somewhere along the way lost another fab guy so I decided to try my hand at it.
I picked up some C channel and flat stock and a receiver tube and made my own bumper and hitch. I finally dragged out the new club car harness I got from Dave at Revolution, great guy who has probably forgotten more about Club Cars than I'll ever know, and with big old pile of copper marine grade wire (all color matched since my OCD got the best of me) got it extended and soldered together in all the necessary areas. I got some black & "carbon fiber" seat covers and cut new seat bottoms and seat backs from 3/4" treated plywood. The seat back plastic covers were sun faded badly so I replaced those both as well. I also picked up a new "carbon fiber" dash to match. I've got a few more parts on the way from Dave, an MCOR kit, a new run/tow switch and a few odds and ends the should be here today. I'm going to start in with some #2 welding cable and start wiring up the motor and controller this weekend. This thing may actually run under its own power soon! |

Re: Finally starting my 1st build
I finally struck up a deal for the type of top I wanted.
I still have to decide how I want to cover it, I'm think maybe with the same bed liner that's on the seat base and the frame. I also finally got batteries and drive system components mounted and made up cables to connect it all. I got the battery monitor screen and touch panel for the wiring relay control mounted on the dash song with a new key switch and FNR switch. The touch panel want quite a perfect fit it has about the smallest panel I could find. There wasn't much room to work with it the first place, so I guess it'll do until something better comes along. Today we'll be working on some more wiring and panel to mount inside the left side glove box to mount the FN Key switch and the rocker switch that will toggle my horn button between the normal neighborhood friendly horn and the air horn. Later this week I'll hopefully be installing the Ausco rear disc brakes that showed up yesterday and finally wrapping up the install on the front disc brakes. That just leaves a few hard parts underneath and then programming the controller. I may actually get to drive this thing sometime this year 😅 |

Thanx!
It took me forever to decide what I wanted and find someone to do it. |
