It could also be a bad connection between the strands of the copper wiring and the terminals they are crimped to.

2ga wire is a bit on the small side for heavy use if you ask me. Nothing alarming, but golf carts were designed for golfing.. drive, park, drive, park.. Things have time to cool down.

If all of them are getting hot, poor crimping of the lug to the cable is most likely, or there is some coating or contamination in the lug making a poor connection to the copper.

4ga cables are more than enough for the vast majority of golf carts, 2ga is overkill unless you run a 500+ amp system with high voltage.

New wires came in, 2ga is bigger than OEM which is 6 I believe so should be big enough.

I don't think it's over tightening, as we have more than one cart and I do all the others the same, and don't put much pressure on. That said, the heat on some has made the nuts unremovable on a few so I am going to top post connectors as soon as I can get to the part store.

Someone mentioned the lugs being suspect, and I am thinking that may be it. They were an ebay or amazon buy, supposed to be tinned copper but maybe where just crap, post top connections should eliminate that possibility.

Thanks all, will update either way.
