secondary clutch

I'm helping a friend with a G14 engine swap. We have a skidoo 580 that we want to use and I am not sure if we should use the secondary clutch from the cart or go through the effort of adapting the skidoo secondary. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Richard

If the clutch is in good condition, it should work just fine.

Thanks for the reply Ron, Isn't there a size difference in the belt width? It looked like the skidoo belt was wider, wasn't sure it would work with the cart secondary, and that the cart belt would not take the power of the skidoo

You should be able to run a 1 1/4" belt no problem. You can buy different grade belts to put on it not just the stock belt. Stock belts might be fine if you don't load it hard like towing or something. Post about it in the sled BB forum. Some primary clutches can be adjusted for belt width some not, and McMasters lists most of the sizes available under "V" drive belts iirc.
