Default 1999 workhorse 1200 or 2006 workhorse 800, which one?

Which one is better and what, if any, is the difference?

I know the 1200 has 1200 lbs. capacity and the 800 has 800 lbs. capacity. I like the higher capacity.
I also know the 800 has a shorter bed than the 1200. I like the bigger bed.

I was told the '99 has the 350cc engine. I assume the '06 does too.

The '99 has the slope front end and the '06 has the grill front end. I do like the grill of the '06 better.

So if they were the same price, and it were you, which one would you get?
This will be used on a small farm and in the woods mildly.

I am in a delima and don't know which way to go.

What is the difference in the engines, clutches, rear axles etc. if any?

Hey Neal,
The 1200 has a longer bed AND a longer wheel base. It does have the 350 motor. I'm not sure if the 800 has a 350 or 295??
I prefer the 1200 based on my expirience

Good luck!

The newer is tempting due to age but the 1200 is more suited to what I need.

I am just curious if I would gain anything by getting the newer one.

Thanks Scot

Same price? Makes no sense there

I'd go for the 800 - But you should know the history / engine compression / clutch wear / and more. 7 years apart should be a price difference IMO

Price is approx. $2500. ± $100
I believe the price on the 1200 is flexible somewhat. Not sure how tight the price is on the '06 800.

I do know that the hours on the '99 are reading in the 700's and the '06 is in the 900's

Is there any difference in engine or power between these two years?

They should all have the 350cc. I'd bet $$$$ that the 1999 hour meter stopped working years ago. This is going to be your decision! Which one runs and drives the best. $2,500.00 for the 2006 is a steal, for the 1999? Uh, it had better be near perfect. 7 years is a huge difference in equipment, electronics, etc.

Now where is this 2006 cart at, I think I'll take it

I would think you could get a better price on the 99 as well

Buy em both, give a good workout, sell the one that doesn't make the cut! to Mike.

LOL - You make a real good point. Add the ST nose to the 1999, use all the best parts and sell the less desireable.

Downfalls on the 1999 are the year, cowl and, if I may, I HATE the old style seat that has the seat back mounted to it. That thing is a hemorroid maker for sure

As far as I can tell the seats are the same on both. I will try to post pics of both.
