2010 EZGO RXV

Replaced axle bearings and input shaft.

Still hearing this noise.

Uploaded to YouTube, couldn’t figure out a way to post a video on this site.

Sounds like a louder version of what mine was doing before I changed the oil in the rear end. I used royal purple limited slip oil and added friction modifier. Drove in figure 8s for a while and the noise is mostly gone. Mine didn't make the noise all the time. It was mostly when I was coasting. Hope this helps.

Could be gas. Try antacid.

There are 8 total bearings in the rear differential/axle. I am in the process of replacing all of them in the hope that it quiets down. Ultimately it could be gear noise and at that point you don't have a lot of options aside from a new axle.

Let me know the outcome. Is there a bearing in the motor? I can’t find an ex-loaded view of the motor. I see the exploded view of the rear differential/ axle.

There's always a bearing on one side of the motor, the 2010 RXV motor has a bearing encoder (Speed Sensor) inside.

RXVs and other carts have two different versions of noise from rear. The RXV has a whine and that's more pronounced on the older, 2009-11 RXVs, and reduced on newer ones. That's not a bug it's a feature.

But if you're hearing little cluckety noises especially when going or coasting downhill, that's motor coupler noise, and the easiest way to solve it is to remove motor, pull the rubber cap inside the coupler out, pop in a dime or two, and put cap back in, then reinstall the motor and it's good as new again. Motors for RXVs are expensive.

If you got actual rear end whine caused by insufficient or improperly maintained gear oil, I've never been able to solve it. I've tried stuff like lucas, thicker oil, and yes, even the old car salesman scam involving sawdust, but it never works.

My '09 came with that " feature ", pretty annoying noise, ended up with a complete new replacement transaxle, totally silent since then!

The RXV has a clutch type limited slip differential, it needs a synthetic (W75-90) gear oil with friction modifier. I wouldn't recommend something different and no sawdust for sure
