Default E-z-go micro switch-pedalbox

E-Z-GO MICRO SWITCH-PEDALBOX

I am installing a briggs 18hp with the VC kit,
Do I need to keep the two wires going into the pedal box area?

As CM said you don’t need the pedal microswitch if you’re going to be using key start.

Also the oem key switch gets power THROUGH the pedal microswitch, so you’ll need to run all new wiring to the key switch area. Really only an issue if you have a factory light kit or fuel gauge. If you don’t have factory lights I’d remove the entire wiring harness and all the electronics and just run your own new wires and extend the 3 or 4 wires going to that little key switch pod thing on the motor and relocate that Briggs key switch to the dash.

Can I leave the micro switch in place and just remove the two wires, or should I remove the micro switch?

Leaving it there won’t hurt anything. If you just connect the 2 wires together it will bypass that switch all together if you want to leave the stock wiring harness in tact.
