Cushman Shuttle 72v lithium questions
I have a 72v cushman shuttle 6 seater I just picked up. I am going to put a lithium in it. Looking at 105AH RoyPow which has a 150 amp continuous and I think 300 (30 sec) discharge. Couple of questions.
1.Is this sufficient for this cart? I don’t want to overload it and it cut all power suddenly. I have no idea what kind of amps these carts pull. This particular cart is a family cart that we ride paved paths on. No other mods and goes the norm 20mph. Think is has 19.5 or 20.5” tires. Nothing crazy. I’m only converting this one for ease of use and runtime. 2. Am I able to just swap and be done? Someone mention having to change some parameters because of lithium but I haven’t heard that and don’t agree. I don’t think there’s much that can be done inside the cushman controllers. Any help appreciated before I order this stuff for the swap. Thanks! |

OK, the Roypow S72105P is 100A continous, 315A - 30sec.. I 'm not sure, If that's enough for a heavy cart like yours?

Everything I see is 150A continuous and 315 (30sec)

Probably check out the 70v Eco battery ( 175A continous discharge ).

I spoke to RoyPow tech support and they confirmed only 100a continuous. I did some more research and found an allied at 180A continuous but about $1400 more expensive. Does have a 3 year longer warranty though. As for Eco, it’s only 70 volts. Thoughts?

If I throw my amp meter on the cart and drive around, which wire should I be on? I have a meter that I can remotely monitor and trend the amps while driving.

For a 48V cart, I would say that a 100A draw is too little. But since you are using a 72v battery I would think that would be plenty. example, 48v @ 100a = 4800w, 72v @ 100a=7200w 50% more power. But don't take my word for it. And a lot depends on the terrain, whether it is flat or hilly.
