Trouble Installing New Light Switch
First of all, this place is awesome! So glad I found it!
I have a 2018 Club Car Onward. I purchased a new switch on Amazon (DaierTek 12 Volt Waterproof Push Button Toggle Switch 12V Lighted RGB Triple LED (Red Green Blue) 16mm https://a.co/d/1qLU8dP) for my headlights. I have model TS16-10EL so the 6 wire model. The switch works great but I can’t seem to get the LED to function the way I would like it. I hooked the white and yellow wires (switch + and LED common pin +) to the positive wire that was attached to my old light switch. Then I attached the black and green wires (switch - and green LED -) to the negative wire that was attached to my old light switch. The run lights come on as soon as the ignition is turned on and as soon as I flip the switch to on on my new switch the full headlights turn on, just like if I pulled out the old switch. However, the LED on my switch is on when the switch is turned off and the LED is off when it is switched to on. I want the complete opposite, off when off and on when on. I tried a bunch of different combinations but can’t seem to get the LED to function the way I want. With most of the combos the switch still works it is just the darn LED I can’t get to work correctly. I am not super knowledgeable on the electrical side so hoping someone with a little bit more expertise on that end will be able to help me out! I have also attached the wiring diagram that was included. Not much help to me…. As always, appreciate the help in advance. |

Re: Trouble Installing New Light Switch
Based off this diagram it looks like the switch has multiple colored LED on it? Or is this just a poor Chinese translation of the wiring?
Either way if you want the light to come on when the switch is on and go off when the switch is off then you need to tie your + LED wire to the switched + voltage source that goes out to the headlights. Sorry I can't tell you exactly what wires to use but if you can provide clarity on my question I may be able to. |

Re: Trouble Installing New Light Switch
Jason - thanks for the reply!
You are correct the, switch has three colors: red, green, and blue. All represented by a different wire. Thanks as always! |

Re: Trouble Installing New Light Switch
So select the color you want your LED to be and run that negative to your voltage reducers -
Tie the LED Common + in with the wire that is supplying +12v to your headlights. |

Re: Trouble Installing New Light Switch
Jason - thanks again man! You helped with my other issue and I really appreciate it!
So just to be clear I would do the following: White wire (switch +) to the positive side of the headlights Black wire (switch -) to the negative side of the headlights Yellow wire (yellow common pin +) to the positive side of the headlights Green wire (green led -) to the negative wire from my voltage reducer Not great with electrical stuff so just want to be 100% sure I am dialed in. Thanks again! |

I am a bit confused on why they call it + and - Switch. A switch does not care about polarity. Do you have a multimeter so we can test something? |

I do have a multimeter. Happy to test whatever I need to.
Thanks! |

If you do have continuity on that then on the switch Positive side you should have +12v coming from your voltage reducer On the Switch Negative side you should have a wire running to the positive side of your lights as well as the Positive LED Common for lighting your switch. |
