Re: Question on DS Charger
Got it, two wires
Disconnect the OBC wires - black and grey from the receptacle run one from the black connection to last ground run one from the grey to the ground, see if it triggers the charger.... If not? bad receptacle? |

Re: Question on DS Charger

That or something is wrong in the charger, but you said you tried it on another cart and it worked. So I’m guessing it’s the grey wire is bad in the charge receptacle or one of the other wires is corroded in there as well. The back of the receptacle has a plate that unscrews I believe to reveal the wires. Also make sure if you have a tow/run switch put it in tow while doing any electrical stuff |

Re: Question on DS Charger
Thanks,
No Run Tow switch on this cart, Yes the charger came on using my SIL Club Car DS, she'll be over later today so I'll reconfirm that the charger is working. Will run the wires to circumvent the OBC, I'm guessing it still won't start the charger, with two OBC's not signaling and 20 years of use plugging in rain, heat that the receptacle is probably the issue. Appreciate your input, has me on track, and will post results tonight. |

Re: Question on DS Charger
A bit off topic, are you sure there's no run/tow switch? I have a 02 DS and mine has one so I'd expect a later model year to have one as well.

Re: Question on DS Charger
Yes no run tow switch on this cart
Found the problem the grey wire had broken off inside the receptacle you couldn’t tell until i removed it from the cart Plugged in the new receptacle first to the OBC before installing snd the charger came right on so its good to go. Appreciate the advice of all who replied |

Re: Question on DS Charger
I hadn't replaced a DS charger socket in years, and now I've had 2 of them in less than a month.

Question on DS Charger
I knew it was corroded off in there. Your OBC is probably fine as well, send that expensive one back. That grey wire corpses often and is an issue.

Re: Question on DS Charger
Yeah what threw me was that I got a continuity signal when testing the grey wire, it wasn't great but it was there, dang thing broke off when I pulled the whole charger port
assembly through the hole. Sent the OBC back today, got credit already and the cart charged perfectly. As I was putting in the the port I was having a Deja vu moment, I think I replaced the original on it 10 or so years back and had just forgot about it.... Nothing like removing, installing, removing, installing the OBC, LOL not a hard job but with the back seat on the cart, had to remove both backrests to get into the area. |

Re: Question on DS Charger
Yup the back seat makes working in the rear a PITA! Glad you got it sorted out. Generally that grey wire is the culprit!
