The Duracell is a 26G. Golf all day today and no issues. Overall I am really pleased/satisfied with this cart.

Replaced the relay, starter solenoid, spark plug, and the battery. Cart was still finicky after almost a month and a half of issues. Was resigning myself to "you get what you pay for" as buying my first new cart maybe I went the cheap way. Anyway, yesterday after a day of use on the golf course, I lifted the seat to blow of the loose dry grass off the battery and look around. I saw what I thought was a frayed cable cover by running past the clutch and pulley assembly and upon closer inspection it was a frigging stick wedged along two pulleys and lodged in the lifted lead leaf spring assembly. Talk about feeling old, stupid and many other things. The cart now starts up as new, like its supposed to. Imagine that nothing obstructing the drive train.....just though I would share. In my defense, the stick....nah, no defense, sometimes one must lick a few windows to be humbled.....

I see sticks of all sizes wedged in all kinds of spots. The ones caught between the clutch pulleys are fairly common. Had a couple Yamahas that have had throttle issues that turned out to be sticks in the pedal box under the floor.

The cart is doing it again. The push the pedal and sometimes at "thousand three" it starts. Last week we went to Mill creek in Salado to play golf and they have a fleet of Yamaha fuel injected gas carts. Those carts do the same thing. I noticed it on the first hole, pushed the pedal and a couple of seconds later it fired up fine. The cart would also run and go forward while the brake was locked down. I know that is an adjustment issue. But I just thought it interesting in another brand of cart.

I read a thread about carts that are finicky about starter generator belt tension and watched a video about a guy that was surprised how some belts have to be pretty flipping tight. I checked my belt and while it didn't feel much sloppier than 3/8ths to a 1/2 inch, I thought why not tighten it up a smidge. I couldn't believe that would make such a difference. It is now fixed. In fact I even loosened it up to replicate my issue and now completely understand how "pedal delay" works with a belt slipping quietly before the cart starts. Live and learn.

Glad that helped. You normally would hear that slipping but maybe not.

If your cart has been doing this for a while, it may have polished the edges of the belt. I recommend replacing the belt so it does not have to be so tight. Overightened belts can strain bearings in the S/G.

This morning I ran the cart up to the maintenance shed, asked for the mechanics opinion on my belt. Tightness as well as wear. Told him the condensed version of the cart since 19 December. He said the belt was fine and not overtight. Also said stuff vibrates loose, so now I will check it. I havent at all in the 5 years I have owned it.

Saturday while playing golf she did it again. The jam nut and bottom nut loosened over 3 months and the starter generator belt got loose. The repair manual states a 3/4 inch ratchet and wrench are needed for the pivot bolt. There is no such bolt on this set up. The parts manual I got from here is spot on. I guess this is just a poor set up. I really don't want to over tighten the jam nut and nut on the tensioner. I will just keep a couple 9/16ths or 14 mm in the tool box at the golf course for when it comes loose again.
