Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
Hi, I have done several Moke's, from only upgrading speed to full builds with tesla lithium batteries and full lift.
I am in the Ocala FL area, so if anyone needs work done on a Moke just let me know. Here are some pictures of my work. or check: https://iongarage.us/moke |

My main thought was to just replace the current AGM batteries with lithium and I know of a rental shop that did that with their Mokes. Apparently they have had great results. I wasn't really looking for a complete rebuild but... With Moke America losing their trademark lawsuit last week and very probably disappearing, I realize there will have to be a plan for parts/service. Is the full rebuild your only option or do you have other thoughts on this? |

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
I am still having an issue after doing the speed upgrade and only changing RPMs in the controller software. My issue is that when the Moke gets to about 50% power remaining, it goes into power consumption mode and will not go above 15 mph. I am really hoping someone has some ideas on how to fix this? Thank you and I hope to hear from somebody soon!

Not sure. I will check next time but that’s probably what’s happening. I going to convert to lithium batteries through Ion garage

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
How did we all miss this in the max RPM setting discussion?
It's right on the Moke America website. Motor Max Speed = 6800 r/min Mokes come from here (go ahead and search US Customs records, they are public and they show they have shipped them over 900 containers full). Interestingly, they list top speed at 40km/h (25mph) / 60mk/m (37mph) so more speed should be able to be unlocked without concern. Notice that the factory tire size is 13" and Moke America uses 14" and I'll assume they have made adjustments to the speedo for the ~2mph difference? |

Re: New Electric Moke, need more speed
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get an alignment done on a Moke? Everyone I call will not do it.
