2002 TXT gas Excessive smoke/liquid from crankcase vent.
I have a 2002 TXT Gas that has lack of power up hills. I noticed the bottom of the air cleaner housing had a puddle of liquid below the carburetor intake. While running in neutral I noticed an excessive amount of white mist exiting the crankcase vent hose. It smells of gas. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong.
Thank you, Ken |

I'm not saying it's your issue, but sometimes the crankcase can get flooded with gas if the fuel pump vacuum fails. you said it drives ok otherwise, except up hills, so it's probably not flooded out. can't say for sure it is a carb issue either

Aw.. Yes! The fuel pump. I bet that is the issue. I will check it tomorrow!
Thanks, Ken |

I changed the fuel pump.. still a heavy white mist from the vent hose. It seems to start happening after a couple of minutes of operation, when the engine is warmed up to operating temperature.
Any other ideas gents?? Thanks, Ken |

Does it have a lift kit Ken? if so you can't trust the dipstick, lift kits
tilt the motor and oil could be over full, 1.5 quarts no more. |

No lift kit. This cart is not modified... All stock.

Wow, that's is excessive!
One would think the carb is dumping way to much fuel! But it seems to run to good for that! Just thought of this, After the cart has sat for a few days, check the oil. Is it over full, with gas? Some times carbs can leak fuel after shut off and get into the crank case and do what yours is doing. I have seen it many times on motorcycles. Don't know it could happen on a cart, but its a thought. Have you pulled the plugs and looked at them? Run it and pull the plugs, see if they are wet, fuel or oil? Do a compression check? Looks like gas, but hard to believe it would start and run that good if it was being flooded. Would make more sense if it was oil. scored cylinder or broken ring and still ran good. |

Y'all got a tired motor there. Do a leak down test. Looks like you are getting compression past the rings.
How many oil fouled spark plugs have you had to change? |
