Question Power Wise Charger Problem?

We hadn't used our golf cart for a few months (2001 EZ Go) ... batteries were way down and dry ... now the Charger doesn't 'turn' on. Normally there is a 'hum' ... Got nuttin ...

We did have all the batteries replaced just over a year ago.

Our charger is a Power Wise EWZGO Textron 36 V (model 28115 G04).

Thoughts?

thank you for any advice

Welcome to the forum don_cart...............

Yes, it happens, but it's best if it doesnt happen, but you may be ok.

The battery voltage has gone down below 26 or 28 volts. Therefore, you will need to charge the batteries "2 at a time" with a "12 volt car charger" untill the voltage comes back up.

Once the voltages are up on all batteries, plug in the cart charger, and it should start charging fine, and give the batteries the deep charge they need that the car charger will Not give them.

Remember........ Never, Never, let your batteries run dry. They will be damaged almost every time it happens.

Be certain to add enough distilled water just to cover the plates. Then fully charge before topping off the water.

See if you have 115v power coming out of the relay to the transformer. I had the same problem with out the dry batteries and the circut board the relay is on was bad. Arizona Bob
