Re: What Is This Noise?
If it isn't the tires slipping on the rims, I think kgsc is on the right track.
Something is flexing someplace. I've had some annoying rattles and squeaks every since I got my cart that I'm slowly eliminating one by one. |

Re: What Is This Noise?
One of the reasons I like my gas carts. I don't hear any squeaks until something falls off.
But then jump in one of the sparky's at night and you hear everything. Just for grins I would make sure the bolts holding the spring to the axle are tight and I would take the rear shackle assemblies off and clean and grease everything. If it is still making noises it may be the front leaf spring bushings which are harder to do. Not bad but less easy. |

Re: What Is This Noise?
My rear springs were the source of some of the squeaks.
I lifted the cart with an eyebolt through the center hole in the bagwell, so the tension was off the springs, squirted oil in the crevices between the leaves and left it hanging from the chain hoist over night. No more squeaky springs. |

I'm more of a "Shade Tree" mechanic.

Re: What Is This Noise?
I have two laminated beams in my garage, and have a BIG eye bolt for my 3,000 pound come-a-long.
I like your chain-fall in a tree. Like when I was a kid. |

Re: What Is This Noise?
LOL! I would like to have one longer one. Turning 17 in October.
Come winter i'm planning on putting in new shocks and springs front and back. I can push it on the ground without accelerating and no noise. I can drive all around on some hills, no noise, get to a steep hill it climbs it but the motor makes a small squeak as i'm climbing the hill when it is under a heavy load. I think its just the motor working hard. The reason I removed the rear tires is I picked up a nail driving up the hill from our scarp metal pile in the field. I figured if I take one tire off I should just take off the other to eliminate possible causes but the tires and rims are fine. Plugged the hole and its good as new! Matt |

Re: What Is This Noise?
17, wow. Man I feel old... Anyway, I would try JB's idea of shooting some oil in between the leaf springs as well as checking the bushings. What can it hurt..

Re: What Is This Noise?
Did the oil hold up? Grease might be good in the bushing, but might be hard to get between the leaves.
