1996 ez go txt reverse but no forward

My cart will go in reverse with no issue but its a no go in forward. We checked the voltage on the battiries it was 36 volt so we put it on jack stand because it acted like it wanted to go forward and it rolls fine but when we put it back on the ground and it still wont go forward

Series or DCS cart?

Series cart I suspect a problem in the F&R

DCS cart I suspect controller problems

cc I believe you have a series cart but we need to make sure. Is the shifter lever in the center of the body with a rod going to a black box on the passenger side ?

If yes, make sure all your cables are tight and clean. Are you getting the solenoid "clunk" when you press the pedal ? If yes you may have an issue with the FNR switch

You didn't miss a thing. I asked the op in my response to check for that. I kind-of assumed series when he stated it would work under no load. Or at least I thought that is what he said

Sorry the F/R switch is in the center of the body with a rod going to it i took apart the switch to today and wire brushed the bolts,nuts and cooper contact pads on both sides of the switch put it all back together and made sure every bolt was tight so can hear the solenoid "clunk" from forward to reverse

What should the voltage be @ the F/R switch in reverse were getting 36.5 to 37 volts and forward 2 has 36.5 to 37 and 2 have 0 one of the cables on the motor gets red hot and glowing also that same bolt on the motor is loose in side of the motor housing im kinda thinking this is making it ground out. Im soo ready to pull out my hair

If the bolt is loose on the motor and it is getting hot, I do believe you may have found a problem..

Well here is an update on my cart we got it running forward tonight. We did find a few issues the cam switch for the F/R switch was in the wrong position there was a broken ground wire on the micro switch, a wire was grounding out on the controller and finally some how i had 2 main wires on the back of the F/R mixed up and now i will have to order a new F/R switch because with all the ruckus going on we broke the mounting holes on it so a HD F/R will be on order from Scotty B tomorrow
