Project Club Car
Hey guys, Im new to this site, and new to Golf Carts. Recently picked up a cheap golf cart, and I plan on making her a little side project and doing some work to it. I got some pictues of before and during work. I'll probably need some help and opinions along the way. Any feedback is welcome!
This is basically just a progress thread. Cost Golf Cart - $150 Gas - $10 Brake cleaner - $6 Spark Plug - $3 Rim polish labour - (Footlong pizza sub) $6 Primer - $5 To keep things interesting I'll post lots of pictures.! Im currently playing with this 1987 Club Car. Currently tearing it down. Pics to come! |

Re: Project Club Car
Thanks joe. yeah, that bumper looks homemade. Im trying to take it off and give her a spray bomb. Right now Im working on sanding all the rims, going to paint them metalic blue. also going over a lot of metal with a wire brush just to get off all the build up.
Got a couple of phone calls Im waiting on, both in regards to a snowmobile engine. Dont know how hard it will be to swap over, but I'd sure like to. |

Re: Project Club Car
Stripped her down some more. Got the wheels off the rims, started to prime them, bought 3 used matching tires for the cart. Looking for an engine tomorrow.
Can I not edit my first post?? |

Re: Project Club Car
I know, I really regret not pressure spraying it before tear-down. The whole thing came complete, and it ran. I had a lot of troubles trying to get it run right and I think the exhaust valve may need adjusting. I dont want to put a whole bunch of work into this engine when I want to drop a sled engine into it.
Cost Golf Cart - $150 Gas - $10 Brake cleaner - $6 Spark Plug - $3 Rim polish labour - (Footlong pizza sub) $6 Primer - $5 Blue Chrome Paint - $10 3 Matching used tires - (26 Bacardi white) $25 Wire brushes - $7 Hopefully gunna look around at some sleds and talk to some mechanics about mounting a CW engine into a CCW transaxle, and if it will work.. |

Re: Project Club Car
wait it was in 97whe they changed the rotation for the new axle set up. so you should have issue with a newr or diffent engine. you said you had a 87 or 88 cart. im confused man!
