What are you going to be using it for? Because you have options Voltage reducer - Voltage converter - or 6v -8v -12 volt battery. |

Re: Needing a voltage reducer...
I have a 48 volt cart that uses six 8 volt batteries. I need it to convert 48 volts to 12 volts.

Re: Needing a voltage reducer...
Ok. Let me say this. You will be better off going with a single 12-volt deep cycle battery. I speck from experience. I had a wench- radio-& lights. The wench alone pulled 20 amps. And most of them put out 20 amps but only at small intervals & 16 amps of continuous power. So if you use one. It could be over loaded be fore you install it. Check the total amps first, than buy.

Re: Needing a voltage reducer...
The only thing that will be running through the reducer is two "factory style" headlights (the type that fit in the front cowl), so do you think that will be too many amps for a voltage reducer or not? Thanks for your help.

Re: Needing a voltage reducer...
If you are only running 2 headlights, why not save the $150 converter money and wire the headlights in series (24v) and connect them across 3 of the 8v batteries (24v). Don't forget a fuse.

Re: Needing a voltage reducer...
Why not just 48V bulbs? I've been running them on both my carts for over two years.
