Club Car DS battery issue

I have a 2000 Club Car DS with 6 new 8 volt batteries. The battery that the red controller wire is hooked to will not keep a charge, this is the only battery that wont keep a charge, this is the second battery to do this. Any idea's on what may cause this?

Is this the first battery in the series or is it in the middle?
Do you have any accessories or lights on the cart connected directly to the pack? Are they connected to this battery?
If this is the first battery, could be your main charge lead from the charge receptacle isn't connected in the right place, so the battery isn't getting charged.

I am thinking you mean the battery on the far right (Passenger) side that has the Red cable running back to your Main Contactor (Solenoid). If so,

- When did you last change the battery?
- How long did the previous battery last?
- What type of batteries were they?
- Do you have any other connections on that battery other then the Red 10g Positive charger cable coming from your charge receptacle?
