Default choke cable - Yamaha G2

My choke cable will not stay out. Is there a way to tighten/adjust it, or do I just have to replace it.

oh , heck the owners manual shows it pulled all the way out for starting and partially out for warm up. I didn't figure I was suppose to hold it out while "warming it up". If the legnth is correct maybe I will put one on it from my Honda quad. It stays out until I push it back in.

I have several G2/9s and never had to have the choke stay on to warm it up.
Coldest weather just gets a pull to start and back in, off we go!!

Anything longer than that and I would suggest a carb cleaning and filter......

I just noticed the steering wheel label states to "push the choke in" prior to driving. So I would still think it should stay out until pushed back in. Anyone out there whos cable stays out? My cart seems to run well without even using the choke, but after reading the manual and the label I think they should pull out and stay until pushed back in.

The choke is spring loaded to keep the butterfly in the carb "open" . If you need to choke the engine you have pull the knob to close the butterfly and when you let go of the knob, the choke will return to the open position. You have to hold it out.

Hold the choke or you could crimp the cable with some vice grips creating friction that would hold it open until you pushed in, opening the choke plate.

I think you might be on to something here, maybe we could start a petition to have all the cart manufactures change the way the choke works. I would rather see electronic fuel injection where we wouldn't even need a choke but thats probably to much to ask for.
