They have outside easy outs also known as bolt, and stud extractors. Pretty cheap on Amazon, and Harbor Freight.

Thx Texas. I solved the problem by hammering on a 1/2" socket then using a small breaker bar to get it loose. Chilly this morning so I think that helped. No damage to anything and I now have a drain plug with a "built-in" socket. Lol. I now have to round up a replacement diff drain plug.

BTW, I notice you have the Jake's drop axle lift kit. Mine came in a few days ago. Haven't yet decided on wheels, tires. My cart won't be set up to be a beauty queen. I've got a metal box on the back for sprayer or fencing tools or chainsaws or .. I'm also considering wiring a smallish LED light kit direct to the battery.

Pretty handy machine without going to the huge expense of a fancy UTV/side-by-side.

Thx again for weighing on an old post.

Thx Cart Around. Yes, I have some bolt extractors but thank goodness I didn't need to resort to that route. Especially since I didn't have a replacement drain plug handy!

Thx again for the reply.
