Remove 7 bolts holding brake assembly in place 3/16 hex head. Sean how did you remove these bolts? i tried and was not able to budge them without worry of breaking?

Default Transaxle brakes 2011 G29 Drive

I have a thread from a couple years ago when I did this on a 2010. It’s difficult to get to, but I actually like the system and the braking is very good when they are set up right. The actual replacement process is not too hard. I used an impact screwdriver to avoid stripping out any of those bolts. They are tight!

Hey I am working on a friends 2009 G29 YRDE and it seems to be making a noise when slowing down. Glad I found this article. I down loaded the manual, my question is were are you getting the parts from?

Does it sound like a growl when you let off of the pedal? Has the car been modified?
It is most likely due to a worn motor coupler which is not cost effective to replace.
You can try packing the coupler with spline grease or replacing the rubber grommet inside the coupler. It may help.
Before someone makes a comment on the reliability of the motor keep in mind that it is a 13 year old DC motor.

Well it does make a growling noise. I jacked the cart up and put it on stands and ran it. I blocked driver side it still made a noise.I did the other side same thing. So that ruled out the axle bearings. The fluid that came out of it was black. Looks like real fine shavings on the the plug magnet.Might be from the brake steels. My friend said his son changed the rear end fluid, not sure when but I am think it should not be black.

That year could go with either a worn motor coupler or worn gears.
Growling on deacceleration. Coupler first. Gears second.
You didn't mention if the car had been modified. (lifted, bigger tires, rear seat, Used in jumping competitions...)

No the cart is stock. Stock motor and controller. No lift. Also were are you getting the replacement parts for this?

The armature retails for $400.00. For that money I would buy a D&D motor.
The gear set for a Team transaxle will be harder to find. You can try your Yamaha dealer or any of the online stores.

Before buying anything I would remove the motor and inspect the splines. Add some spline grease and rubber grommet. See if this does anything for the noise.
