Default 86 Yamaha G2 battery

Hi, I have been having issues keeping the battery on my 86 G2 charged. I have replaced the starter/generator, twice, and the voltage regulator. It will still die within a few days if not trickle charged when not in use. My next step is to replace the battery, I am not even sure it has the correct one. What battery should my cart have?

Thanks in advance.

If you have an automotive type battery with 500cca that should be plenty. A smaller battery could even be used, but I like the larger car batteries.

If your cart is going dead while sitting and turned off, it's likely you have a parasitic draw. Look up "Parasitic Draw Test" on YouTube and you'll find all kinds of videos on how to test for that.

Once you determine that you have a parasitic draw, the way you track it down is you start disconnecting one wire at a time on the cart. Once you find the correct wire the voltage on your meter will drop, again see videos.

What is the battery voltage when it is running about half throttle?
