Default Honda 24hp ?

So one of my push rod keeps popping out of the rocker arm unless I put it really tight does mean I have a sticky valve?

First thing is first, check the guide plate make sure it fits very closely to the pushrod. It may be worn and allow the rod to walk sideways you can tighten up the ears somewhat.

Is the rocker arm bent?

If it is replace it. Is it intake or exhaust?

If it is the exhaust, check to make sure the lash cap is still on the valve stem.

You broke the old guide plate?

Could have said that. Do you have stiffer springs in it?

This is the exhaust side correct?

If it is sticking, then pull the head down and soak it in Berryman's Chemtool overnight.

Then put the valves in a mason jar and soak them.

Buy 2 cans. Under $4 each. In the AM, brush out the bores and check for sticking.

Or you can buy to cheap rubber corks and just do the guides.

After they are clean, chuck up the offending valve in a drill and polish the stem with fine emery paper. Fine as in 1500 to 2000grit

Also, pull the back cover off the engine and take a look at the cam for damage and pull the lifter cage and check those as well.
