Default Help with my honda 24hp?

So i found out my Honda 24hp has a broken exhaust valve and bend push rod... So i thought that was it and ordered new valve and push rods gaskets then i noticed i was missing a cam lifter which made my rod all loose not in place Iam hoping its just fell out of place and no damage in the block! So my question has anyone opened up one of these motors before looks easy to remove side cover and clutch and get to it?

It's a very easy engine to service.

Once you pull the side cover off, you can just pull out the cam shaft and check the lifters and followers.

Look at the parts manual at the top of this section for an exploded diagram.

Be sure that when you replace the cam you line up the dot on the cam with the dot on the crank.

Really simple

When you put it back together valve clearances are

Intake ( 0.006 +/- 0.001in )

Exhaust ( 0.008 +/- 0.001in )

What were you revving it to when it broke?

I've had the stock governor gear explode around 6500- 7000

I usually remove the plastic gear on anything I plan to hot rod.

You can replace it, or use a rev limiter or throttle stop.
