driven clutch machining
I have read that haveing your secondary machined, will give you more low end. Just wondering how much to take off the sheaves and do you machine it off both, I would assume so. I have access to a lathe... Thanks

Re: driven clutch machining
Thanks for the links and help gmorrison, I think I'm just gonna play around with it, it dosent sound like there is a specific amount that needs to be machined off, Looks like it depends how the belt is already sitting and were it needs to be sitting. I have access to a couple of driven and drive clutches, So I guess practice makes perfect.... Thanks.

Re: driven clutch machining
i was told to take about .100 off from the face behind the center bearing on the drive. then you have to make a equal size spacer to put under the snapring when putting back together. but don't machine the faces. as they will get too weak.

Re: driven clutch machining
Well I finally got around to playing with it, we just took .040 off total, .020 from each side of the secondary clutch, may take a little more just to see what happen's. It made a huge difference. I havent played with the primary clutch yet. The belt is riding right up to the top within a 1/4" on the primary, which seems to be pretty good...
