Default 2002 gas battery went dead

I recently had new brushes put in my 2002 gas Ds. I put in a new battery and took it for w long drive. I stopped for a minute and went to go again and the battery was dead. Any ideas what would drain the battery so fast? I just replaced solenoid and a micro switch to. Thanks

I am going to look into voltage regulator tomorrow but just curious what would draw the battery down that fast? 20 min. Ride seems like it drained the battery.

It may, but I have been told that if regulator is bad it could burn up you starter.

Seems to be fine now. Must have drained the battery when the voltage reg. went out. Tested with a volt meter before I put in regulator and it was not charging at all.
