Default Dead Short?

I have an older model 36v Club Car and the other day my daughter mentioned that she could now drive the cart without the key in the on position. When I lifted the seat an enormous amount of heat escaped. I disconnected one of the battery cables and noticed that I apparently had a dead short and naturally the batteries were all heating up. I couldn't find any signs of broken, corroded, or shorted cables. Any clues?

Sounds like another stuck solenoid. Replace it with a Golf Cart Continuous Duty Type of the same voltage

When they first stat to stick You can smack them with the handle of a large screwdriver (when the cart is off) and they may release. Sometimes the contacts are just welded closed. Make sure you get the same voltage
