Default 2002 Club Car DS gas.....dead

I have a 2002 Club car DS in the shop. The cart was running great but wasn't charging. I pulled the generator and took it to the shop to get rebuilt. They guy said it was fine.

So I ordered a voltage regulator. I pulled the old one out and installed the new one.

Well now the cart is dead. No power to the key switch or radio. The radio is tied into the key switch for power. Headlights work but they are on their own circuit from the battery.

I have disconnected the ground and cleaned it with a wire brush, so I don't think it is a ground issue.

Any ideas what it could be?

Have you put the old one back in to see if you get power back to the switch? You have just gotten another bad regulator

I'm betting you blew the fuse when working on it!!

It was a fuse. I pulled that fuse out 3 times and looked at it and it looked fine....even with my readers on. LOL Put a new one in it and fired right up.

But now it doesn't shut off by itself. Have to manually shut it down by pressing the throttle cable on the carb. This thing is making my head spin.

I think that's normally caused by a bad engine ground... But I'm no expert

I have checked my grounds once again and everything looks fine. What causes the engine to stop running when you let off the pedal? The micro switch or is there a kill on the governor?

Next to the air filter box is another box that houses some fuses... Inside that box is a a half moon thingy ma Bob... That half moon thingy rotates around when you push the pedal, and his a switch.

I think that switch activates the solonoid that turns the starter...

But if it starts the engine , I would say It's working normally...

Again I'm no expert, and this outside my expertise.

I figured it out. I plug a wire onto the wrong post of the microswitch. DOH!
