Broke my own rule, now the cart is busted !!
Well, I try to follow the rule that if it is not broken, don't fix it..well the cart was running fine except my speed control arm for the contacts was not returning all the way, so I figured I put on the spare part and upgrade the wires I had all ready bought, well, ended up breaking the board the resister coil is mounted too. After buying whole new set up, got to work cleaning up things, new coils and board, new contacts, new wires and even put a charge meter on. Well, now the cart does not even work Everything is tight, cart is charged, switch is on, but nothing. A few times the beeper would go on, but not now. The only thing I can think of right now is the key switch, not positive on how you by pass that. or poor contact up in the FnR switch. I have looked at two wiring diagrams for ez go resister carts and both are slightly different. well any advise would be welcomed...****

I doubt it is the key switch they never go bad.
Go back and triple check your wiring Im sure you will find your problem there. |

Do you have power in and out of the F&R microswitces? Do you have a solenoid CLICK when you try to go?

Re: Broke my own rule, now the cart is busted !!
Well, I had a Guinness and working on a Long Board Lager now...so feel a little better I replaced each wire one at a time as to not cross anything. The only wire I was unsure of of was the first one I took off before realizing I have a bad memory It was connect to the solenoid. it was on the same lug as the speed control arm and had a number 1 on it so i thought it went to the first contact. when looking at the wiring plan on this site, it looks like that it where it is suppose to go. Everything else is suppose to be right, but will double check again tomorrow. I tried adjusting the FnR up and down on the adjustment/mounting bolts and the get the beeeeep real loud. so power is going to the buzzer. how do I by pass the ignition switch..? do i just connect the two wired together ?
thanks all joe |

Re: Broke my own rule, now the cart is busted !!
Ok, Scottyb got it with the solenoid. I guess after 22 years the thing could not take living without all the old wires, speed contacts and resister coils. Here is a pic of the old resister coil and board compared to the new one. So instead of just the wires and speed board contacts, I ended up upgrading the resister coils and solenoid. But I guess it was over due and was less than a 100 bucks for the two parts. Since I was working on it I put in a charge indicator and head lights thanks all.
