Installing battery meter question.
Getting ready to wire meter in but wanted to ask a quick question. Wiring diagram shows the obvious pos neg hookup but my question is.
Can I just run the pos and neg wire to battery pack and not use the "c" option? Or does the c option need to be hooked up to the pos battery terminal as well if no toggle switch? I can put a switch on it but would just rather the meter be on when the key is on and off when keybis off. If that's not possible I'll wire a switch. Thanks |

Re: Installing battery meter question.
Thanks rainman. On a follow up if I wired it straight to positive terminal would meter go off when key is off or would it stay on all the time? I'd rather not put it on a toggle switch but if that's the only way I can turn it off while cart is not in use I will.

Re: Installing battery meter question.
Yep should stay on all the time. That's the way mine is wired, ie..with no switch and never had an issue and no worries about drain on batteries.

Re: Installing battery meter question.
Most of those meters have to be connected to the batteries all the time, with the "C" wire hooked to the keyswitch so it's off when Key is off. The Curtis meters will reset to full every time, even if the batteries are not truly full, if you take away all power when the key is off.

Re: Installing battery meter question.
I would like for it to go off when key is off. If I am looking at this diagram right I would run the "c" to key switch and hook into the back of it with a terminal connector or splice into the yellow wire? Or how would that work Not real sure thanks

Re: Installing battery meter question.
Yep, you got it right. The txt typically already has the two other wires already there for the meter also.
