Default 2001 Club Car DS 48V Never Stops Charging

Like the title says, 2001 DS 48V. Batteries are fine, runs well, just never ever stops charging when plugged in. If I leave it charging for a week it will boil the batteries empty.

Also, it does it with my charger and my neighbors as well. so I assume something in the cart????

. . . are you saying that the charger does not time out at 16 hours?

more then likely OBC went bad.....................thats a real normal failure on like 98 and 99 but so so common on 2001 but yes it happens ...........replace OBC and your good to go.......................

If I leave it pluged in for a week the charger seems to stay on. Unless it will time out and come back on again. It seems that every time I look at it, it is charging.

Also, when trying to drive at low speed the cart will stutter or buck if you will but then it is fine at full throttle....???

Batteries are fine, they are all 1 season old. All were replaced at the same time.

No he is right you have a bad cell on one one of your batteries, it happens, get a hydrometer and find the bad battery and replace it. Shuttering is due a battery voltage dropping out, which is also the same with the charger, it can't get one cell to charge. Do you have a voltmeter? But the real way to find this is with a hydrometer.

that means nothing at all, have every battery load tested and have all cells checked with hydrometer and good news is when you find your bad battery if they are only a year old it should be free replacment..................
