Exclamation 48 volt Club Car help please very slow

Hello< i am in need of some help. I just bought a 1998 Club Car 48 volt ds (I think) It was missing a battery . I went and bought a 8 volt battery from Sams and installed it. I jacked up the rear end and charged the cart all night. The cart is holding 52 volts fine. When i hit the gas, the wheels turn very slow. so slow i can hold them to a stop. Batteries are holding fine . With the gas all the way down, it still has 50 volts. I just replaced the motor thinking that was it and it does the same thing. PLEASE HELP!

DOes the cart have an electronic speed controller or a pack of resistor coils behind the batteries?

Is the charger receptical round on the cart with 3 prongs?

Sounds like it may be a throttle input problem...... throttle device not asking the controller for more..... can you check the linkage and see that it is working proper? Is this cart an MCOR throttle device = black box under the passenger floor board?

It has a black box under the driver seat. I checked it> it has a dial with contacts inside Should it have a full 50 volts there or is it low voltage?
