Battery Prices
What's the going rate for batteries? 6 and 8 volt. Also, if I decide to go 48 volts, am I better off going with ( 6 volt batteries or (6) 8 volt batteries?

Re: Battery Prices
What area are you in?
Place by me in Hammond, LA wanted $119 for US Batteries 8v. I went to another place in Kenner on my way to work and got Trojan T875s for $99 wholesale, retail was $109. |

I’m in Northern California and when I was looking there were certain batteries that just weren’t available in my area. Transporting them is an issue, with their weight. I would have thought Trojans are easily available all over, but maybe you’re a distance from a distributor? At that price, it’s getting close to considering lithium. From what I think I’ve read here, 8 6v would give you a longer run time, but you’re buying more batteries and have to find a place for the eighth one. |

Re: Battery Prices
I live in Queens, NY. I'm sure there has to be a few dealers in local area. I thought $1,269 was nuts.

However, my oldest daughter lives on long island. She bot a new Subaru this year. She bought it here....Pittsburgh Pa. region because NY prices are nutz. She called the local Subaru (NY) dealer and they quoted her $125 for an oil change......JUST the oil change. I told her to wait until she came here....which she did....and with a coupon at the dealership where she bought the car, she got an oil change and tire rotation....plus they checked for any factory issues that applied for her car. Maybe you should see if you can find a place right across the NY\PA line. It would likely be worth your drive to do that. |

shop it out If you are replacing batteries now - bite the bullet and go 48 volt swap. ScottyB will set you up. I'm telling you you won't regret it... you may however regret buying 6 6 volts when you decide to upgrade to 48 in a few months. There is no stopping this addiction buddy... at least it's not crack |

I want to go 48, but that means I can’t even use the cart until I upgrade the controller, solenoid,F&R switch and cables. That’s a big chunk of change to lay out. I just bought rims and tires and did a lift kit, I’ll be into this thing for over 2K. Have to put some serious thought into this one |
