Default Club car power drive charger

My battery charger is supposed to shut off when the batteries are charged. It is not doing that. I have had a maintenance pro look at it and the batteries and he can find nothing wrong with either. The charger does work and the batteries do charge. I just have to pull the plug when I feel that the cart is fully charged. Anyone have any ideas or similar expereince?

Probably the onboard computer not telling the charger when to turn off. Maybe it would be better to use a voltmeter instead of guessing when to stop charging....Welcome Have a Nice Day

often you can reset your computer by disconnecting your batteries for about 30 mins... sometimes fixes it..

I had the same problem and new batteries fixed it. Seems like the voltage across the battery pack doesn't get high enough to shut off the charger.

Check the battery water levels and specific gravity in each cell.

Thanks. I tried that this afternoon and plugged it back in about 2 hours ago. We'll see what happens.

Thanks. Water levels are fine and so is the voltage - 48 - 52. Only one weak cell and that is not going to cause this as it isn't that weak.

Thanks again for that tip but it did not work. The charger did not shut off after about 6 hours of charging. Any other ideas? New OCB?
