Re: Made some jerky today
You remember from grade school that if you don't have enough for the whole class, then you just can't have any for yourself...
PS - You can send me some to my shop address |

Re: Made some jerky today
I need to shoot some more deer. Yesterday evening I shot a nice 8 ptr. It had long tines and a wide spread. I have been looking for it all day but no luck. It was a 225 yd shot, but Deer drop to the ground. I lowered my rifle and it got up and ran. I have found no blood, hair, or nothing. Makes me sick.
Anyway, I'll try to shoot another doe for some jerky and ya'll can all come over for some chew and a cold one. |

Re: Made some jerky today
Sounds good Mike. I have made about 15 pounds of jerky this year also. The problem would be with my two sons it doesn't last very long around my place. I have to stash a bag back just so I can get some.

Oh man my mouth is watering. A hunk of jerky tucked back like a chaw, cold La Blatz and walleye in pan for shore lunch. Only 5 months. I make my own with turkey.

Re: Made some jerky today
I'll be going back to deer camp next Wednesday. Hope to look around some more. I asked a buddy to drive out to where I shot deer to see if saw any buzzard sign. I hate to loose the meat, but that deer had a nice rack.
I use a .243 rifle. I think I'll upgrade to a .300 mag next year. |
