94 club car quit working

Have electric that has ran fine for over a year...a couple days ago, I took off of the charger in the garage and it would not go forward or reverse...I topped off the batteries and put on charger again, still nothing but a click.
I noticed when checking for voltage at the motor, that I have 36V at all 4 studs until I press on gas. All 4 reading go to 17V in forward and reverse.
Any suggestions of where to start would be appreciated.

In 94 CC made resistor and controller carts, which is yours?

Do you hear a solenoid click when you try to go?

It is a controller cart....I don't hear the solenoid, my click is from the speed controller. The solenoid is my suspicion since finding the wiring diagram. Is there some way to test?

The solenoid is a HD on/off switch or Contactor
the connection is made /broken between the 2 large terminals. The 2 small terminals are the activation circuit. typically one terminal will have a constant negative connection to the pack. When Positive power is applied to the second terminal the contact is drawn up against the spring to make contact. When power from either side of the activation circuit is removed then contact is released and the spring pushes it away interrupting the circuit ...It doesn't matter which terminal is neg or pos.

Test the solenoid by supplying the needed power to activate it...

check the voltage on the 2 small posts of the solenoid. At rest there should be no voltage, with the pedal down, you should be reading ~36 volts. If not we need to determine where you are losing power (typically a micro), if you are reading ~36 volts and no solenoid click, you need a new solenoid.

thanks guys, I think that's it....I have 38V at all times and no click. Will order a new solenoid tonight

i also am having the same issue but i am hearing the click when the pedal is pressed. Forgive me for my ignorance but i know absolutly nothing about the cart, it was inherited and i am just trying to get it running to sell. It ran a couple days ago but quit working, something does click but nothing happens. Everything seems to be fully charged but when on the charger one of the batteries lets off a buzzing sound at one of the terminals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oliver,
Are you hearing the click at the solenoid?

Noise at a battery post may be a bad connection..make sure all posts/connectors are clean and tight.

yeah i was just thinking the same thing. If you have a buzzing on the battery post while charging, check the cabling, one or more of them are probably loose. Try tightening all your battery posts and charging/running the car. A loose battery wire will cause the car to not run.

Yes, and a loose connection will cause the post to melt off of the battery!
