500 Amp controller, voltage drop under load?

If you are running a 500 amp controller, can you tell me which controller and what kind of voltage drop you get from a stop under full throttle on flat ground?

My voltage drops to 40 volts, i feel like this is low. (Brand new pack)

Lowest I've see mine is 45+ with 51+ idle. I'd say motor, tire size, and temp would all play a part assuming you have good batteries. Cold probably not an issue for you in FL.

The voltage drop on the batteries is directly proportional to the amount of current being used (load).

Assuming that at WOT both your speed and torque curves are at 100%, the main factor in limiting the current will be the "Throttle Rate".

When You accelerate from a stop, the motor is at a stall condition and it is basically a dead short to the batteries.

If You lower the throttle Rate, the controller will gradually allow the motor to drain more current.

At low rpms the motor is able to draw considerably more current than it can convert into torque, the excess current is dissipated as heat at the motor.

The goal is to make sure the Motor has all the current it needs to develop torque, but not so much excess that it turns into heat.

It is a somewhat subjective adjustment, just lower the throttle rate until You notice a decrease in performance, then bump it up a little.

I am currently running the preset throttle rate (I believe 50%)

I am waiting for alltrax to call me back about a different issue. My controller goes into a "stall/safety" when I give it full throttle at times. Basically the power drops for a second or 2. Only happens sometimes. alltrax told me to turn off speedometer and see if that fixes issue. It did fix I 100%, now I have to see what he recommends.

I think I lowered my throttle rate to about 12 from 25. Before that it would jump a bit when the throttle was engaged. Now much smoother.

40v is a little on the low side. New batteries are not 100% until they are cycled many times.
Are you using a 500a control on a stock motor without restriction?

Batteries have been cycled about 20+ times now.

There are no XCT maps specifically designed for the PQ motors.
