Re: about a battery meter
Not sure of the meter you refered to as there is no pic or link....... But all battery meters need to be checked against a real voltmeter once installed to get the most effective use of them. This includes the led and the analoge types....Hope this helps

Re: about a battery meter
Harbor Freight has cheap Volt/Ohm meters for $2.95 and are pretty accurate, ( I keep one on the cart.) When my good meters read 51.4 volts my Harbor Freight meter reads 51.6 volts. The meter on my cart is nice looking but only gives you an idea of when it’s time to turn around and head back, for me it’s more for looks than anything else. But once you KNOW your meter you’ll become comfortable with what it indicates.

Re: about a battery meter
I mounted a harbor freight meter inside the cubby and hooked it direct to the batteries, it reads the same as three others I bought and an expensive fluke. I also have a spare set of leads so I can pull it out (velcroed it to a bracket) and check the batteries individually.

Re: about a battery meter
Great ideas guys
Long as you know that at 36 or 48v you are flat out EMPTY.... and you check where your pack comes up to 30 minutes AFTER recharge. Then you can tell what your individual cheap or expensive gauge reads when you are 1/2 empty. Which is where it is recommended that you recharge the pack for the longest battery life possible, no matter what brand you choose to buy |
