Cushman Truckster Mechanical to Electric Fuel Pump
My mechanical fuel pump only pump a little bit of fuel while at full throttle and besides that doesn't work at all. As you probably are aware parts for these pumps are very difficult to find. I would like to know what the best electric fuel pump to use would be and if anyone has done this conversion yet. What psi should this new electric fuel pump need to be? Do I need to keep the fuel return line? Thanks in advance

Re: Cushman Truckster Mechanical to Electric Fuel Pump
I have not done this to mine but everything I have read indicates 2-4 psi electric pump.
There is also a way to run a pump off intake vaccum. Search posts for cushman fuel pump |

Re: Cushman Truckster Mechanical to Electric Fuel Pump
I bought a Mr. Gasket Electric fuel pump for small carbs from Autozone for 50 or 60 bucks. I mounted it on the inside of the framerail behind the gas tank and made a hardline from it to the carb with rubber fuel line connections.
It worked perfect until I let it sit without running the better part of a year. The pump would still run but the diamphram inside the pump rotted away or something and it wouldn't pump fuel. Hope this helps. |
