Cart slows down then stops
Hi I’m new to carts. I own a used 99 36v cart. My problem is the cart will be traveling when it will slow down I will push the speed pedal to the floor but it will continue to slow and come to a stop. Switch to reverse nothing happens. Switch to forward nothing happens. Wait less than a minute and press the pedal and the cart will start moving again. The aftermarket battery indicator shows 75% full It just started doing this but has done it 4 times since yesterday 9/9/18. Thanks

Re: Cart slows down then stops
Thanks Scotty. Unfortunately hurricanes are approaching and work load has increased It will be a few weeks before I can attempt repairs. Where would speed controller be located on 99 ez go cart. Could it also be solenoid causing problem. A friend of mine mentioned this. He is no cart mechanic though. Thanks Scotty

Re: Cart slows down then stops
Speed controller is under a black cover on the passenger side of the car, beside a rear battery. later models might have a switch labeled RUN and TOW/MAINTENANCE.
There are four bolts that require a 3/8 socket or nut driver to remove. |

Re: Cart slows down then stops
Mine did the same and upgraded the controller to an Alltrax from Carts Unlimited. Best thing I ever did. Going to upgrade to 42 volt next but the new controller made it a different machine.

Re: Cart slows down then stops
Thanks! I was going to take a few more pictures when I was "done" but I guess you are never done LOL. I enjoy working on it and adding "gadgets". My last thing is I am going to box in the cargo area in the "Woodie" theme.
