best brush bar?
While working on the body on my 81 ds, decided that I will want a brush bar when it is done. Really like the Jake's gunmetal double brush bar but wonder, and have read, that some of these bars, are only cosmetic. I won't be winching off of it but would like it to protect the lights/front body from accidental bumps while parked. I can fab and have access [friend] with a real pipe bender but if the aftermarket ones are decent, it is not worth the time. [Hell come to think of it, I have a bunch of 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 shaft that I could use but that would be stronger than the frame.] Thoughts/ experiences?

Re: best brush bar?
Since no one here had any answers as to brush bar strength, I have ordered stainless [hey why not] tubing and decided to build my own. If anyone here has built anything new in the bumper category, post pics here!

Both very nice! had thought about building an under the lights bumper/bar but most of the equipment here is higher. It would simply go under and the light would get it. Ordered from Shapiro Metals out of St Louis. Nice folks and they do small orders. 1 1/2" od tubing is not cheap but hey, should last a lifetime.

Re: best brush bar?
OOOOOH! Close to what I envision! Make it yourself? One question. Is there more than the 2 bolts holding it to the frame tails? That is one issue I am working on. I know I can go back and bolt to the cowl support but don't want to do that. Gonna work on integrating it with my tow bar mounting plate that will be bolted under the A arms.

Re: best brush bar?
I have the Jakes and it does just fine. Short of plowing into trees and such I don't see any issues
