Re: Kawasaki Mule 1000
I got the mule picked up and stopped at my mom's on the way home. I unloaded it and messed with it a bit. Found the electric fuel pump faulty. So I bought a new one and installed it then ran a hose into a gas can as the tank was pretty rusty and nasty on the inside.
I also replaced one missing radiator cap and filled the cooling system back up. I sprayed some starting fluid in the carbs and cranked it. The Mule fired and ran..... not great but it ran. It also had a loud noise at low idle that went away when revved up. It sounded like it was coming from the starter/water pump area. I also found that the engine and rear end on this mule is all one piece and you can't just throw another engine in it. So, that being said and with all the other projects I have I decided to sell it..... Listed it on Craigslist and 2 days later it was going down the road on someone else's trailer and now I'm back to thinking/working on the golf cart. |
