Lift Kit Size-Need to Buy Tires
Hi
Purchased a 97 CC a few weeks that has 22 x 11 x 8 mudder tires that are almost gone. I want to purchase some new turf tires (I will take it mostly on the road) and I am not sure if 23" tires will fit. Attached are few pictures. The last one of the rear measure four inches for the spacer and 5" to the top the leaf spring. Will I be ok with 23" tires or should I stay safe and stick to 22". What is the quietest off road tire? |

Re: Lift Kit Size-Need to Buy Tires
Does anyone have an idea what size lift kit I have? I found a decent cyber Monday deal on tires and need to order them today.
Will I lose much torque (if any) going from a 22x11x8 mudder tire to a 23x10.5x12 turf tire? |

Re: Lift Kit Size-Need to Buy Tires
I don't think the problem will be loss of torque when moving up to 23, especially if you are staying mainly on the road. Currently, it appears you have 8 inch rims. If you buy a tire with a 10 or larger as the last number, you will need new rims as well. Have you considered that?
As far as type of lift you have, it is hard to tell from those pictures. If you have only a four inch lift, I would not do 23" tires. Then again, I am a relative newbie to all this stuff and am mainly stating what I found out through some research. |

Hi
I will be buying a tire/wheel combination. I don't like the looks of a 8" rim with a 22" tire. What other pictures do you need to tell the size of the lift? Thanks |

Re: Lift Kit Size-Need to Buy Tires
Show a pic of the whole cart, from the side. My old DS had a 4" lift I think. But you should really be able to tell my looking at what's already on there. You are talking about an extra half inch between the tire and the cart. On my precedent, 22" tires are recommended for my 6" Jakes lift but I run 23's just fine. The one thing you might want to check is the rear suspension, especially if you have a backseat. Some find they need heavy duty springs in the back with big tires or else they rub when you have passengers on the back.
I know what you mean about the 8" rims. I had those (stock wheels with hubcaps) on my old DS and never liked the look with the knobby tires. You can find lots of tire and wheel combos online. That's how I bought mine - they came mounted and aired up - all I had to do was bolt them on. |

Re: Lift Kit Size-Need to Buy Tires
it looks to me that it would be at least a 6 in lift with the shock extensions. it looks like a steel eng. lift. they make a lot of good 10 in street turf combos. shop around

It looks like a 6 inch lift. with a 6 inch lift you can run 23s. For on the road if you want to go with a bigger wheel like a 10 or 12 inch? it should work fine. For off road I would stay with the 8 inch wheels and go 23 inch tires

Re: Lift Kit Size-Need to Buy Tires
Thanks to all. To be safe, I went with a 12" rim and 22" off road tires. I couldn't pull the trigger on getting street tires.
I was told by a couple of on line companies that the older model Club Carts might not work with a 23" tire and a 6" lift. 1" is not a big deal on the height and I want to make sure it fits in my garage. |
