Default Trailer hitch g9

I Am planning to put a hitch on my g9. What are your ideas for a homemade hitch? Thanks!

This was my idea 10yr ago or something, it still works today except it now has a clone 420cc to pull it.

Anyway it has a ball hole, yard cart/etc hole, tie down and towing loop. I never did cut off those angles hanging down after I welded it. I've pulled a small block 19' boat around with it and a hay wagon, and an near empty car hauler. That was about as much as the cart would pull. Not tried the new engine yet its not broken in.

Thanks for the idea. That definitely looks like something I can handle

What happened is I built it but for the angles on the bumper there. I didn't know where it went for height. So I put it on the cart and got it level, then welded the angles for the bumper while on the cart so it sticks out level.

I'm guessing that is 5/16" x 3" plate and 1/4" bolts holding it on, 3/16" x 1 1/2" angles on the bumper. I did that because of hitch weight, but the cart can't pull very hard so not like it will pull the hitch off. The yard cart hole is closer to the end so it can turn when the ball is in there. The loop is 3/8" square I bent in the vice iirc. Looks like I welded a 1" plate on the end to bolt to the frame. I could measure it some time if you like.

I bought a reciever from family farm and home. it's basically the same as what you'd have on any vehicle. Just clean up a spot on the rear frame and bumper, then weld it on. I can use any attatchment for a 2 in. reciever, and it will handle any load that i can put on it. I haul a 4x6 trailer stacked 4 high with split oak. no trouble at all...well the belt on the cart smoked a little:)

And that is a great (& easier) solution if it works for you. I didn't because they stick out so far I could not make it short as this one (without a lot more cutting/welding to make a custom one). With my dump box I would walk around and it would nail me in the shins. (Notice how I rounded the corners way off on mine lol) I also wanted it tight to the bumper for ground clearance offroad, short so I didn't back up too close to something and bump it....since I can't see the back with the dump box on. Also don't have to worry about something that can come off the cart, I use a small ball for everything no matter what size it is....just pulling around the yard and stuff nothing comes off it. Nobody can borrow my receiver and then I have to find it, because everyone is too lazy to take a ball off lol. I cranked that ball on there hard and never have touched it since.

It would be nice to use a receiver for other reasons, such as mounting other things on there besides a ball. Also have used longer receiver at boat ramps but not with a cart due to weight on the ball, but you might with other things like a towed lawnmower deck/etc. I pull a lot of things with it but nothing regularly.
