Unsmooth acceleration

I have a 199? Club Car that doesn't have a smooth medium speed. It has great take-off and good high speed, but makes a big acceleration in the middle. I have cleaned the contacts on the V Glide. Anything else that I can try?

did you do anything with the movable wiper arm? did you clean the contacts until new penny clean and flat? if not you may have to go that far........best thing is dissconnect main power and open box up and work V-glide see what it looks like going back and forth, if you need contacts or wiper arm you can buy just them and they are cheap........also check resistors or rear side i,m not sure if they will effect it but they might if they are blown.......................

I cleaned the contacts, but not the 'brushes' that wipe across them. Where can I find the resistors?

they are on the back side of the V-glide but if your referring to where you can buy them check the sponsers here one or more of them will carry them and again they are cheap..........the nice thing about the V- glide is you can buy every part for it you don,t just have to buy a whole unit if you don,t need it.......................................

Okay, finally got to the camp to work on the cart. It is a '96 model. The contacts are clean. All resistors have some resistance - not open or shorted. Should I replace the resistors in case their values are off, or any other ideas?

Sounds like the resistors are bad.... Save yourself a headache and upgrade to the MCOR. It operates from 1-100% throttle instead of 20, 40, 60, 80, 100. It's much smoother operating. It's available as a conversion kit and it's not hard to install.

Note: I'm basing my comment on my assumption that this is a 48 Volt cart.... The MCOR is compatible with every 48 Volt vehicle except for ones with serial numbers of A9501 until A9516

One more thing. The only resistors that I can find are ceramic resistors on the backside of the v-glide and no coil-type resistors that I always seem to find when doing a parts search. Any help?

CLUB CAR Part number 1019711-01

Those are the resistors on your cart. If you need them, let me know and I can hook you up with those or the MCOR conversion kit that Tahoe mentioned.
