Carb Blowing air back into Breather Box/ Running Rough
My G2 is running rough with a "Poof-Poof-Poof" sound back into the breather box and the strong smell of gas accompanying it. I took the carb off and cleaned well and this seemed to help but did not completely stop it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Carb Blowing air back into Breather Box/ Running Rough
Backfires into the intake usually indicate airbox is not sealed tightly or not assembled correctly (if carb is clean, & both intake gaskets are sealed). Elbow inside airbox engaging both bottom & lid correctly? Seal around lid is good? All 4 hooks/rubber latches good? It will never run well if any of those three things are not right.

Re: Carb Blowing air back into Breather Box/ Running Rough
OK. I will try to get new rubber latches but there is only a filter in the airbox and there isn't anything else inside. The hose going from the intake is tight and also at the airbox entrance. I cleaned the carb very well and it ran somewhat better but there is still a faint "poof-poof, poof-poof" every now and again.

All the guts inside the airbox are gone? It wont run right till you rejet it without those pieces.

Make sure your valves are adjusted too. Had this problem with an ezgo and the valves were way out of adjustment.
