Re: Picture Posting 101
I have all of my photos on Google Photos, and even when I get a link to share they do not show up as photos. I can wrap the "URL" tags around the link, and they show up as a link and people can see them, but they have to click.
Is this just a known thing with Google Photos or am I doing it wrong? For example: Here is an "img" tagged picture(there will be nothing visible): on the preview that looks like this but with brackets instead of stars: *IMG*https://photos.app.goo.gl/cyY2Bck3F3sfzEYc7*/IMG* And I can post it as a URL and it works: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cyY2Bck3F3sfzEYc7 Any sugestions for ways to make google photos work? |

Re: Picture Posting 101
There are a few options to display thumbnails and full size pictures stored in Google Drive, but the question is should we?
It is very easy to accidentally remove sharing rights (the picture needs to have public view) or uploading a new image without using "versions". You can also remove access at a higher folder level and we would end up with a bunch of posts without images. What to the other members think about external image Hosting? Do the site admins see the value in forcing all images to be uploaded to the site? |

I see both of your pictures, ratclr213. Can you see either of mine 2 posts up (right above the philosophical, and really very logical, comment)?

Re: Picture Posting 101
It appears that there is no preference in where to store images, so here is how You use photos stored in Google Drive.
You need to share the Photo with "Anyone with Link can View". Copy the link address, You will need the unique "FileID" from the link. You just need to substitute the YourFileID from your Google Drive URL and place it on the example below: Code:
The structure should look something like: https://drive.google.com/file/d/YourFileID/view?usp=sharing New Thumbnail Link: https://drive.google.com/thumbnail?id=YourFileID New Link to Full image: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=YourFileID Example used in this post: Code:
Original Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ARq_y4fDDS5wZKbgorOCEAg0_S24YnjH/view?usp=sharing Thumbnail (used in the IMG tag): https://drive.google.com/thumbnail?id=1ARq_y4fDDS5wZKbgorOCEAg0_S24YnjH Full Size Image (used in the URL tag): https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1ARq_y4fDDS5wZKbgorOCEAg0_S24YnjH |
